Pemmican Patty Food Company’s commitment to Tribal Communities

Cultural preservation, food sustainability, and promoting a healthy lifestyle are fundamental to our mission at Pemmican Patty Food Company. These three values were the catalyst in bringing our Pemmican Patty products to life. One of the ways we stay true to these core values is by actively giving back and partnering with various Native American organizations around the country.

Did you know:
  • Pemmican Patty Food Company contributes a portion of its proceeds to tribal community colleges in the form of scholarships to support entrepreneurship, leadership and cultural preservation.
  • We support and partner with food sustainability and sovereignty programs around the country.
  • We’re always looking for ways to support non-profit organizations by donating products to be able to be used for those in need of food assistance.

We knew early on that we wanted to make an impact on Native American communities. After all, it was a visit to the Turtle Mountain Reservation in Belcourt, North Dakota that that sparked the conversation that ultimately propelled everything forward. We owe our company’s success to our Native American heritage!

As a small company with deep Indigenous roots, we’re making sure to make in-person appearances at several Indigenous focused events. What is happening in tribal communities is important to our mission and informs our efforts in giving back to tribes.

With a full agenda these next few months right now, our focus is on the Strengthening Government to Government Conference held in Bismarck, ND June 25-26, 2024. This free conference aims to highlight current state and nationwide issues within the Native American Community. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from tribal leaders representing five tribes across North and South Dakota. North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum will also be in attendance. The two-day conference will feature various breakout sessions, speakers, and activities. Our invitation to the event came from organizers looking to add a Native Artist Showcase.

While we will have a booth set up in the vendor area, we plan on making a few appearances at a few breakout sessions, with the goal of finding alternative ways to do our part. We can’t wait to meet with G2G attendees, gain more knowledge about our tribal communities, and share some love with our nutritious products.

Stop by and visit us, if you are planning to attend! If not, there will be other opportunities to meet with me and the Pemmican Patty Food Company team. While we work to finalize our schedule of in-person events, be sure to keep up with us via our social channels for updates.

Until next time,

Patt
