Native American athletes are at the forefront of reviving the active lifestyles that our ancestors cherished. Through their dedication and visibility, they inspire Tribal communities to embrace both spiritual and physical strength.

We are humbled to see these athletes choosing Pemican Patty products as part of their daily routines. Among them, is the first all-Native-led and sponsored motocross racing team, ‘Off the Rez’, who are on a mission to make history. The team started as a few friends with the desire to celebrate their heritage while pursuing a passion, much like our own beginnings at Pemmican Patty. Today, they are a community rallying together in support of 16-year-old, Sage Powers, as he pursues his racing dreams.

Competing on the professional supercross stage requires significant resources. Their fundraising efforts have taken them to many tribal powwows and fiestas where they’ve been overwhelmed by the hospitality and generosity of each community. With elders crafting race pennants, powwow attendees sporting team shirts, and Native-owned companies backing them, they are proud to be entirely funded by the Indigenous community – or ‘powwow powered’ as they’ve coined it.

Their racing goals are matched by a devotion to their roots. Off-seasons are spent participating in powwows and connecting with Native entrepreneurs to support the development of tribal communities. They plan to also launch a mentorship program for Native youth in 2025, offering motocross coaching with a cultural connection.

They too, are fueling adventures for generations!

On the trail, the track, or the field – we’re proud to offer superfood snacks that enhance an adventurer’s strength and focus. And helping athletes like Sage preserve their Native culture through traditional ingredients, while bound to a rigorous training program – truly, what could be better?
